I am a Professor of Physics at
Columbia University.
Some of my work involves teaching in the
Physics Department.
My research is conducted from
Nevis Laboratories.
Current and recent teaching activities
During the Spring 2020 semester, I am teaching both Physics 3003 (Mechanics) and
Physics W3083 (Electronics Laboratory). Detailed information about the courses
can be obtained on CourseWorks.
Research activities
My primary research interests lie in experimental high energy physics. My
current efforts is on the
ATLAS
experiment at the Large Hadron Collider
(LHC) at
CERN
in Geneva, Switzerland. Until recently, I also worked on
the DZero
experiment at the Tevatron proton-proton collider at
Fermilab near Chicago.
Information about ATLAS for the general public can be found on the
ATLAS public pages.
More information about our group's efforts on ATLAS can be found on our
ATLAS group homepage.
You can also find information about the
Front End Board we developed
for the ATLAS liquid argon calorimeter.
(You can learn a bit more about my research activities from my
homepage
on the physics department server.)
Undergraduate research opportunities
I am the Principal Investigator of the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU)
program that we operate at Nevis Labs. If you are an undergraduate interested in applying to
participate, check out the information on our
REU WWW page.
