M523xBCC/M5282LITE Kit Statement of Intent and Limitations

This evaluation kit consists of a M523xBCC hardware target board or a M5282LITE hardware target board and cabling.

A software CD is provided as a courtesy supplement, containing prepackaged software and tools. The software has been configured to be compatible with both the MCF523x based M532xBCC hardware and the MCF5282 based M5282LITE hardware. The software includes the OpenTCP TCP/IP stack, the RTXC Quadros Single Stack LITE RTOS, and GNU tools. This software is provided as a part of the collaboration by the partners involved. OpenTCP and the GNU tools are open source and freely available independently of this kit.

OpenTCP is an open source baseline TCP/IP stack for embedded systems. Entirely written in C, OpenTCP has much of the protocol support of a full stack. Limitations of OpenTCP can be found in the documentation. The license terms allow for user modifications and extensions without the obligation, but with the option to submit these for posting to the OpenTCP website.

The GNU tools have been packaged with an easy to use installer for your use with this kit. Updates and editions to the tool chain are subject to the terms of the GPL.

The precompiled RTXC Quadros Single Stack LITE real-time operating system is intended for simple applications and evaluation. The limitations of this free version are detailed in the documentation. Full-featured versions of RTXC Quadros are available for purchase from Quadros Systems.

Due to the complimentary nature of the included software and tools, no software technical support is available from Freescale. Technical support for the software and tools is available for purchase from both Quadros Systems and Viola Systems.
