Power Use in the SLIC
The SLIC uses +5 V and +3.3 V power.
The 1.8 V required for the operation of the cores of the DSPs is converted
on board from 3.3 V.
Given below is the current drawn on the 5 V and 3.3 V power supplies in
a system consisting of a Bit3 (604) and a one or more SLICs.
| System |
Condition |
5V Current [A] |
3.3V Current [A]* |
| Bit3 Alone | |
4 | |
| Bit3 + 1-SLIC | powerup |
7 | 3.3 |
| | DSPs booted |
7 | 4.1 |
| | Data Circulating |
7 | 4.1 |
| Bit3 + 7-SLICs | powerup |
21.8 | 22.9 |
| | DSPs booted |
21.5 | 28.0 |
| Bit3 + 11-SLICs | powerup |
31.4 | 36.1 |
| | DSPs booted |
30.6 | 43.6 |
* 3.3 V current readings are reproducible to +/- 0.4 A.
