RUN 2B L1CAL MEETING MINUTES 22 April, 2004 Present o Fermilab: D.Edmunds, V. O'Dell, S.Rapisarda, H.Weerts, D.Wood o MSU: M.Abolins, C.Brock, P.Laurens o Nevis: H.Evans o Northeastern E.Barberis Fermilab: TWG (S.Rapisarda) ------------- o Software Interface: modifications now complete - can use all types of triggers now o Hardware: no changes to report UIC: Cabling (A.Stone) ------------ o Cabling presentation will be given at next L1Cal meeting Nevis: TAB/GAB (H.Evans, D.Edmunds) -------------- o TAB/GAB prototype tests (Hal) - working on long term TAB-to-GAB data transmission tests - (no problems found so far at low rates) o TAB --> L2/L3 tests at Fermilab (Dan) - Dan and Jovan have successfully sent 3 events to an existing L1Cal VRB (without requiring an SCL init) - Next step is to create a trigger configuration file so that the data can be written to tape o Production Readiness Review for TAB - should try to set this up as soon as possible MSU: ADF (D.Edmunds) -------- o Verifying that all control functions needed in the final system are there - this has changed slightly from original spec - Questions a) How big time difference between frame signals for different channels is allowed. . Dan will send new spec's to Nevis b) ADF does not change output mode on L1 Accept . yes c) Monitoring of individual channel data . ADF can capture raw ADC data and/or Et values sent to TAB synchronously for an entire TURN (circular buffer) . freeze buffer request synchronous over all 4 crates, can be done by: TCC-freeze now, TCC-next L1-Accept, TCC-at next Monitoring event, self-trigger . can read this out over VME using TCC d) TAB/GAB take care of all L2/L3 data . yes - most of this is now documented - will be distributed in the next few days o Layout should start on a timescale of ~ a week Online Software (P.Laurens) --------------- o Philippe is concentrating mainly on the ADF work Simulation (E.Barberis) ---------- o Now have QCD and electron files o Work also on Cal-Track Any Other Business ------------------ o Please look over the L1Cal pre-installation responsibility list sent out by Hal last week. The deadline for first replies was yesterday. Please send these to Hal as soon as possible.
