RUN 2B L1CAL MEETING MINUTES 29 July, 2004 Present o Fermilab H.Evans, S.Lammers, J.Parsons, G.Pawloski, S.Rapisarda, A.Stone, N.Varelas o MSU J.Biehl o Saclay D.Calvet, E.Perez Nevis: TAB/GAB (H.Evans) -------------- o TAB/GAB crate - 2nd TAB/GAB crate being assembled - will repair short in 1st backplane when 2nd is finished o TAB/GAB firmware - (still) updating some TAB firmware to aid in system simulation . first stage ready to test - will start coding a few example and/or terms as soon as this is tested Saclay: ADF/SCLD (D.Calvet) ---------------- o SCLD testing finished - used standalone version of SCLR mezzanine . slightly different firmware than cards in D0 - no problems found: timing ok to ADF - purchasing components to build 2nd SCLD board . will assemble after current board has been tested w/ ADF v2 - will send board to Dan in the next few weeks MSU: ADF v2 (J.Biehl) ----------- o done with pal firmware o layout now integrating all the parts of the board that have been layed out previously UIC: Cabling (A.Stone) ------------ o most current information on web page - http://www-d0.fnal.gov/~alstone/D0Work/L1CAL/l1cal.html o will need 160 pleated foil cables + spares - have ordered 9 (in early June) - received these last week - Johnny Green was not happy with pleating - sent back to company - should be back next week o schematic for wiring for all components of BLS-to-ADF system is now done o 40 patch panels . 32 TT cables each . 4 pleated-foil cables out o Schematics for paddle boards done - should be able to test by end of Aug / early Sep o Cost - 160 p-f cables - 40 patch panels - 80 paddle boards - +10% spares - cost est done: $35K (+10% spares) - will try to build 5% system for prototypes o build mock-up of cabling at back of ADF crate o will start looking at signals from splitters as soon as components start arriving Fermilab: TWG (S.Rapisarda) ------------- o more details on web site - http://www-ese.fnal.gov/D0Cal_TWG/ o Commercial System - designed in consultation w/ Dan - controlled by Linux computer - Arbitrary Waveform Generator . arbitrary w-form gen - mainframe w/ multiplexing module: 1 --> 32 channels (single ended) .
