RUN 2B L1CAL MEETING MINUTES 10 February, 2005 Present o Fermilab G.Ginther, S.Lammers, V.O'Dell, S.Rapisarda, A.Stone o MSU M.Abolins, J.Biehl, C.Brock, D.Edmunds, P.Laurens o Nevis H.Evans, C.Johnson o Northeastern E.Barberis, D.Wood o Rice P.Padley o Saclay D.Calvet o York W.Taylor Nevis: TAB/GAB (H.Evans) -------------- o Complete Bench Testing of production TABs complete - all inputs/outputs tested . except Cal-Track SLDBs (previously tested at Fermilab) - have procured a (Lambda) bench power supply that supplies enough current on 48V to run all TABs and GAB in the crate at one time . ran this system overnight with no data errors detected o GAB Bench Testing essentially done. Still need to verify - L2/L3 output at Fermilab . GAB exhibits more jitter than TAB . solutions to this problem available if necessary - output to TFW . have verified that ECL signals look ok o Now testing new version of TAB firmware - includes new ADF-to-TAB data synchrnoization scheme and new EM algorithm o 2nd TAB/GAB crate now assembled - will be shipped to Fermilab (along with a GAB and a 2nd TAB) in the next few days - are there sufficient cables at the lab? MSU: ADF v2 (D.Edmunds) ----------- o ADF v2 Testing Continues (6 of 10 cards in test) - running multiple cards at once, SCLD timing, etc. - channel link tests continuing o Everything ready at Assembly house for production as soon as green light is given. o ADFs to Fermilab for integration tests - Dan will be out at Fermilab tomorrow & over the weekend . can take an ADF with him - then needs to be back at MSU to get production started - after that, he will be available for the integration o Transition system components at MSU - tests with this have not really started - some concern about fragility of P0 connection to backplane o ADF v2 PRR: tomorrow (Feb 11) at MSU Test System ----------- o Splitters - 4 TTs (1 card) are at Fermilab - 4 more cards are available at MSU - new cards can be installed between stores o From Lyn Bagby - We have tested the first ADF Wiener/VME crate with no problems. - A test form and the results of the first crate have been sent to Dan and Philippe for their review. - Basically we are load testing, recording trip levels, and the CAN bus interface. - The crate has been installed in the ADF rack on the sidewalk. - Testing of the other crates is expected to be completed by Feb 15 o Cabling the ADF Backplane - this will be very tight, so it should be practiced - AMP cables (ADF-to-TAB) should be tested for proper connectivity before being installed . a simple test card will do the job - Stefano can do this Simulation (E.Barberis) ---------- o Run IIb Simulation meeting next Friday - main discussions: status of simulators and status of trigger studies
