RUN 2B L1CAL MEETING MINUTES 12 September, 2005 Present o Fermilab L.Bagby, S.Lammers, J. Benitez, R. Unalan, Md.Naimuddin, C. Fantasia, A. Roe, M. Cwiok o MSU D.Edmunds, P.Laurens o Northeastern D. Wood (apologies to those I couldn't see) L3 data integrity (Naimuddin) ----------------- o Signal tap was set up to look for anomalous ADC values ("8's") in recent run, and saw none. Data are being studied offline. o Data written from GAB to L3 - data studied with hex dumps. Event structure not understood yet. o Plan for today: write concurrently from TAB and GAB so TAB data can be used to help understand GAB data Transition system (Benitez) ----------------- o Patch panel cards: 20 received, 8 tested, 7/8 failed due to bad vias (related to hole size) -- new vendor has been selected to redo them, Circuits Express. Expect bare boards next Tuesday, stuffed boards by end of Sept. o ATC's: batch of 18 received. 14 fitted (temporarily) with old front panels for testing. All tested good. New front panels expected end of September. Production approval granted. L2 data (Cwiok) ------- o ran TAB->L2 on today's owl shift - able to set L1 accept rate - ran at 3kHz. Still see about 10 bad events per 10 million. Question about which kind of clock was used. Some events show good headers and trailers with bad TT data in between - others show corrupted headers and overlapping events. TAB/GAB Hardware-Simulation comparison (Fantasia, Lammers) -------------------------------------- o Loading known inputs into SW chips and checking all registers downstream for consistency with simulation. Monitoring tools (Roe) ---------------- o TT data capture client is now reading data structure from Philippe's TCC server clone. Still understanding structure of data. o Crate monitoring client runs, has been discussed with Norm Buchanan and Stefan Anderson for incorporation into routine monitoring. Alarm levels not yet set - Adam will set in EPICs and test with "yellow" alarms. TAB power supply (Bagby) ---------------- TAB supply will have to be beefed up temporarily to accommodate more TABs. Plan to use bench supplies instead of messing with Vikor. All will be replace with Wiener supply when it arrives. TCC Software (Laurens) ------------ o Philippe worked with Scott Synder and Marco Verzocchi to specify protocol for communication with COOR. Document produced and is circulating. Question of reference sets with limited eta to be discussed after meeting between Sabine and Philippe. o Draft specification of TCC-TAB/GAB communication produced and sent to Mike and Hal
