RUN 2B L1CAL MEETING MINUTES 13 December, 2005 Present o Fermilab L.Bagby, J.Benitez, C.Fantasia, G.Ginther, S.Lammers, M.Mulhearn, A.Roe, A.Stone, R.Unalan, T.Zmuda o Indiana H.Evans o MSU C.Brock, D.Edmunds o Northeastern D.Wood (apologies to those I couldn't see) Test Area Status ---------------- o All crates (including new all ADF crates, the control crate and the TAB/GAB crate) are now installed in the Test Area o ORC - ORC documentation is now updated on Lyn's web page - Dan and Walt came by and did an inspection - found two small things . bus bar needed for control crate . testing of RMI needs to be documented . should have ORC tomorrow o All fibers to L2/L3 are now at Fermilab - will start running them next week o Problem with original Wiener supply - Wiener forgot to tell us to connect reference line on their supply o This afternoon, plugged in a TAB and GAB into new crate and checked currents - things look fine - wiring can accomodate 30A - far more than we need . currently fused at 15A - rest of the TABs being installed one-by-one right now o Cabling the CAN bus and inserting this into Adam's monitoring o ADF-to-TAB Cabling - Dan will pull apart the ADF crate that's currently being used for transition system tests . he's coming out to Fermilab tonight/tomorrow - Jorge/Dan will test the remaining (10) LVDS cables that were sent from Nevis 2 weeks ago - Tech help on cabling . George has talked with John Anderson about this . some help is (probably) available for cabling the Test Area . but not for the final installation - Cabling could start tomorrow afternoon o Post-cabling tests - ADF-to-TAB pseudo random data tests - all other link tests that are normally performed - writing data to tape - all will proceed essentially in parallel - documentation o Ted Zmuda has joined the group (welcome to Ted!) EM Algorithm: ------------- o The plan for the EM algorithm implementation in firmware - move to upper/right anchoring of clusters - disable masks by default but allow them to be turned on by downloadable parameter - Cory's code will be used to test the new firmware when it's ready Farewells --------- o This is the last meeting for Cory and Adam. We owe them both a big thank you for all the good work they've done while they were here. Everyone is encouraged to give them a pat on the back (or buy them a beer). Meetings over the Holidays -------------------------- o Next meeting (Dec. 19) will be held (without Hal) - but meetings on Dec. 27 and Jan. 2 are *canceled*
