for all of us turning on/off and monitoring the
spectrometer. There are two commands that are
handy:

~/bin/auto_set  <HVbox>

this sets all voltages for a particular HV box. The
box numbers can be found here.

~/bin/auto_mon  <HVbox>

this script informs the user if the HV for all channels
in that box is ON, and the actual, requested and last
set values of the HV. It also gives the anode current.
