The Meeting Continues

The serious discussion finally begins. Plans are revealed, and treachery is exposed! Unfortunately, none of the really dramatic parts were photographed.

All eyes are drawn towards Winston as he makes some self-important pronouncement. Vito keeps careful watch on the proceedings.
Winston continues to speak, and amazingly people continue to listen. Vito has moved in closer; perhaps she plans to knock Winston unconscious to end his incessant chatter.
Winston drones on. Some people begin to look away. [By the way, that glare from the top of my head is some bit of poorly-developed film, or a highlight on the camera lens, or some defect in the scanning software. I can't possibly have a bald spot that big.]
Gnasher Grimtooth is completely relaxed and confident. The humans will not be permitted to vote for themselves, and everyone else on the committee hates the humans. His race will shortly rule the world... or so he thinks.
It becomes clear: the People of the Trees have few friends at the Meeting. They're just so... dirty. They think they're civilized just because they bathe regularly.
Winston tries to defuse the tense situation with a small joke. The humans find it funny, but Cetacea adds it to her list of reasons why someone else should have custody of the world.
The other party guests watch the Meeting with various expressions of disinterest. Leonid is already of the opinion that the humans are too uncivilized to survive. In the background, Susan Lane explains that the potential destruction of humanity was a common risk when she'd go out with Bill; it was one of the areas in which their relationship worked well.
Qkzkqrrp, wearing the body of June Schreiber, tries to drum up support for its idea: instead of debating about who should rule the world, why not shortcut the problem and blow it up instead? Zorro and Priscilla are stunned by this bold pronouncement, but Coyote is calm. Does he know that such a plan would play right into Gnasher Grimtooth's hands?
