skim the section titles below. If anything interests you, dive
in. Otherwise, use these pages as a reference for the future and move on
to the challenges of the :ref:`advanced exercises` or the 
:ref:`discussions in the appendix <appendix>` 

You're going to need these resources as you move into the topics for
the :ref:`advanced exercises` and :ref:`expert exercises`. I'm going to do less "hand
holding" in these notes from now on, because a part of these exercises
is to teach you how to use these references. [#f100]_
