The ProgramGain valuable experience in the real world of science communication by spending a summer working with the Public Affairs Department at Fermilab. With the support of a National Science Foundation grant, you'll spend time at one of the most exciting laboratories in the world, working with a team of public relations professionals to convey the fascination of high energy physics research to the general public. You'll interact with scientists, engineers and educators from around the world and will come away with real accomplishments in a variety of areas such as journalism, design and social studies. DetailsLocation: The internship will be based at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, Illinois - about 30 minutes from Chicago. Take a virtual tour of the lab here. Financial Support: Students chosen for the program will be paid a stipend of $3000 plus an allowance for travel to the lab and back as well as transportation while on site. Housing at Fermilab for the length of the program will also be provided.
